The Berrouaghia Dry Grains and Legumes Cooperative is a public institution of an economic and commercial nature, subject to the guardianship of the Algerian Professional Grains Office (OAIC), which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries. The cooperative is located in the southern part of Medea Province, approximately 23 kilometers from the provincial center, and covers a total area of 5 hectares.

The Dry Grains and Legumes Cooperative in Berrouaghia is considered one of the cornerstones of agricultural and rural development in the state of Medea, as it plays a pivotal role in supporting farmers and contributing to achieving national food security through a wide range of activities and services directed to the grains and dry legumes sector.
The appendices
The network of facilities and infrastructures belonging to the Berrouaghia Cereals and Pulses Cooperative represents one of the most important agricultural systems in the Wilaya of Médéa. Spread across various regions, it plays a key role in the storage and distribution of agricultural products. This network includes four silos dedicated to grain storage located in Ksar El Boukhari (Eriad and Métallique), Moudjbeur, and Beni Slimane. It also comprises twelve storage warehouses distributed across several areas, including Berrouaghia (Légumes secs, MDN, CASAP, PMT), as well as Zoubiria, TDD, Chelalet El Adhaoura, Ain Boucif, Halimia, Abf, Beni Slimane, and Ksar El Boukhari. To facilitate services for farmers, the cooperative operates seven proximity centers located in Ouamri, Derrag, Chahbounia, Bousken, Souagui, Azizia, and Om Djelil. Regarding production and processing facilities, the cooperative manages four main stations: the MKIC cereal station in Berrouaghia, the BALARINI barley station in Berrouaghia, the AKYEUREK seed station in Beni Slimane, and the packaging station for pulses and rice in Berrouaghia. This diverse infrastructure highlights the cooperative’s central role in supporting the agricultural sector and strengthening food security.
The processing units
In the state of Medea, there are several grain grinding and processing units affiliated with the cooperative
- • AGRO-DIVE, a public company located in Ksar El Boukhari, operates a semolina mill and a flour mill.
- • BAHA Mill, a private company based in Médéa.
- • BOUAMRA Mill, also private, is located in Draâ Semaar (Médéa).
- • Finally, MATAHIN MIRI Mill, a private enterprise in Kaf Lakhdar.
CCLS Partners
Farmers are the central partner of the CCLS of Berrouaghia. They include producers, who directly cultivate cereals and legumes, multipliers, responsible for producing quality seeds, as well as farmers, who use agricultural products for livestock feeding. Their commitment and collaboration are essential for the success of agricultural programs.
